Forget holding London hostage. Forget protesting in the streets. The Future Science Research Centre in the Republic of Korea may have just handed Extinction Rebellion exactly the message they need to make people sit up and listen: air pollution from cars may cause baldness. 

As Fleabag told us earlier this year, “hair is everything”. If the threat of extinction isn’t enough to get us out of our motors, perhaps sheer vanity can.

In brief, then, the study found that fine particulate matter emitted by cars and factories burning fossil fuels damages the skin that holds hair follicles in place and decreases levels of four proteins responsible for hair growth and retention.
